The Los Angeles Dodgers already swept a two-game series with the Houston Astros earlier this season, and they’ll get a chance to do it again this weekend starting on Saturday night as -150 betting favorites on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Dodgers and Astros met in Houston back on July 28-29, with Los Angeles winning 5-2 as -150 road favorites and 4-2 as -150 road favorites in those two matchups, which were both UNDER results on the totals at sports betting sites. That squared the teams at 5-5 in their last 10 meetings dating back through their postseason matchup in 2017, and the UNDER has now paid off in seven of the last 10 games between them.
Los Angeles enters the weekend off a 5-2 loss in Arizona against the Diamondbacks on Thursday as heavy -240 chalk, after they’d won the first two games of that road series. Overall the Dodgers are 7-3 in their last 10 games and 32-13 on the season, giving them breathing room atop the NL West standings and the odds to win the NL pennant.
Julio Urias (3-0, 3.86 ERA) is Los Angeles’ probable pitcher for Saturday night, and he’s coming off a no-decision against the Rockies last Sunday in which he allowed four runs on five hits in his 4.1 innings of work. The lefthander, however, has surrendered two or fewer runs in six of his eight outings so far this season.
Framber Valdez (3-3, 3.61 ERA) is in line to start for the Astros on Saturday, and he was knocked around for eight runs on 11 hits over seven innings of work in a loss to the Angels last Sunday. The lefthander also picked up a loss against the Dodgers back on July 28, surrendering three runs on four hits in 4.1 innings of work in that outing.
The two teams are then set to play again in the ESPN Sunday night game, before Los Angeles heads back out on the road to face the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies next week. The Dodgers’ final two series of the regular season will be at home against the Oakland A’s and L.A. Angels.
