After spending the entirety of his Major League career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Andre Ethier has maintained a connection to the organization.

He’s been on hand for several team events and games over recent years, including this season when the Dodgers hosted the Chicago Cubs. Ethier used the opportunity to sit in the Home Run Seats at Dodger Stadium so he could poke some fun at former teammates Cody Bellinger and Joc Pederson.

Now, Ethier is organizing a giveaway for Dodgers fans who live in the Phoenix area or will be on hand this weekend for the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

As explained during an appearance on the AM 570 “Extra Innings Podcast,” Ethier is going to purchase burritos for the first 100 Dodgers fans who mention the promotion at Rito’s:

“All the loyal Doyer fans out there who like to make the trip from L.A. — or even the ones here in L.A. East, I like to call it — I love these guys. It’s an old restaurant that my family and myself have been going to for a long time. The sons that now run the shop have been begging me since I retired to join their softball team, and I finally did it. I just love them and think they’re a bunch of hardworking guys, so I love helping them and giving them a little extra attention for the great quality food they have.

“So Saturday, before the 5 o’clock game in Arizona, if you go to the location on 7th and Missouri in Phoenix, I’m going to give away 100 burritos on me. And it’s truly on me. It’s not the restaurant giving them away, it’s truly me. I will be paying for them because I don’t want to take anything from them. The first 100 Dodger fans to show up, get your burrito. Red chile and green chile will be served and handed out from noon to 4 o’clock on Saturday. Please go support them and give them love like they’ve shown me all these years.”

Ethier has also recently joined Instagram, using the handle @everetteethier, and shared a photo of him and the Rito’s softball team and a video of him going to pick up burritos as compensation for joining their team:

Ethier is carrying out the promotion with the Rito’s Crown location at 5813 N. 7th St
Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Gonsolin returns to rotation, Kershaw starts Saturday

After picking up a burrito on Saturday, fans can head to Chase Field to watch a Clayton Kershaw start.

Kershaw was originally scheduled to start on Friday but the team decided to give him an extra day of rest as they likely want to proceed cautiously with him after he missed two months of the season with forearm inflammation.

Tony Gonsolin was inserted back into the rotation for the series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which pushed Kershaw to Saturday.
