While the Los Angeles Dodgers have made a strong case to be the latest MLB dynasty by winning back-to-back World Series titles and three in the last six years, their franchise history and success since 2000 is a mixed bag.
Up until the current era, there were middling levels of postseason accomplishments since the turn of the century. But there have also been impressive individual performances and players who carved out a special place in the Dodgers’ franchise history.
The DodgerBlue.com staff has ranked the best Dodgers players in the last 25 years. Among various factors considered, the all-time Dodgers list was compiled by evaluating a player’s contributions and significance to the franchise.

No. 22: Chris Taylor
Chris Taylor’s career began after he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2012 MLB Draft, and he went on to make his debut with them during the 2014 season. But after little success in Seattle, the Mariners traded Taylor to the Dodgers for Zach Lee in June 2016.
Taylor’s career took off after that trade, with Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto later calling that the “worst deal I’ve ever made,” per The Seattle Times.
Taylor hit his first MLB home run just a few days short of one month after the trade, which came as a grand slam against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and he finished the game a single shy of the cycle with six RBI. Taylor was the third player in Dodgers history to hit a grand slam for their first career homer, and he was their third second baseman to have at least six RBI in a single game.
But the utilityman didn’t truly break out until the 2017 season, when Taylor hit .288/.354/.496 with 21 home runs, 72 RBI, 85 runs scored, 17 stolen bases, a 126 wRC+ and 4.5 WAR. That season also saw him help the Dodgers reach their first World Series since 1988.
Taylor hit his first postseason home run against Héctor Rondón of the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, and he ended up earning Co-MVP of the NLCS, along with Justin Turner.
Taylor also led-off Game 1 of the 2017 World Series with a home run against Dallas Keuchel. He finished the postseason hitting .254 with three home runs and seven RBI in 15 games.
Three years later, Taylor helped the Dodgers win their first World Series in three decades as the starting second baseman. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, he hit .270/.366/.476 with a 129 wRC+.
In 2021, Taylor earned his first and only All-Star selection, finishing the year hitting .254/.344/.438 with 20 home runs, 73 RBI, 92 runs scored and 13 stolen bases.
During the 2021 postseason, Taylor had some historic performances, starting with a two-out, two-run walk-off home run against the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Wild Card game. In the NLCS, Taylor hit three home runs in Game 5 against the Atlanta Braves, becoming the first player in MLB history to hit three home runs in an elimination game.
Taylor hit his 100th career home run during the 2023 season, a grand slam off of Reynaldo López against the Chicago White Sox, which made him the first player in MLB history to hit grand slams for both his first and 100th career homers.
Taylor won his second ring with the Dodgers in the 2024 season, this time coming as a role player.
He struggled during that 2024 season and was eventually released in 2025, but still put together a highly productive 10 seasons with the Dodgers, batting .250/.330/.431 with 108 home runs, 423 RBI, 480 runs scored and 81 stolen bases.
Among all Dodgers hitters since the start of 2000, he ranks fourth in games played (1,007), sixth in stolen bases, seventh in runs scored, 10th in RBI, 12th in home runs, 15th in WAR (16.9), 24th in wRC+ (107) and 25th in on-bases plus slugging (.761).
Taylor also appeared in games at second base, third base, shortstop and all three outfield spots during his tenure with the Dodgers.
