The Los Angeles Dodgers haven’t yet found an answer to losing Zack Greinke to the Arizona Diamondbacks, or for the failed trade for Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman or the snafu that came with attempting to sign of Hisashi Iwakuma.

However, the club continues to make minor roster moves that add to the overall depth in the organization, which president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has focused on since taking control of the front office last year.

Two days after a three-team traded with the Chicago White Sox and Reds that netted the Dodgers a trio of prospects, Los Angeles acquired left-handed reliever Tyler Olson from the Seattle Mariners.

Over the weekend Elian Herrera announced he was returning to the Dodgers organization after spending the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers.

According to J.P. Hoornstra of the LA Daily News, the utility man signed a Minor-League contract with a non-roster invite to Spring Training:

Elian Herrera has re-signed with the Dodgers on a minor league contract with a non-roster invitation to spring training.

Herrera signed with the Dodgers out of the Dominican Republic in 2003. He made his Major League with the club in 2012, appearing in 67 games while logging time at all three outfield positions, second base, third base and shortstop.

Herrera otherwise spent the 2012 season with Triple-A Albuquerque. He only spent four games up with the Dodgers the following year. In a combined 152 games with the Brewers in 2014 and 2015, Hererra hit .253/.289/.376 over 412 plate appearances.

During his time with the Dodgers, the utility man batted .251/.336/.328 in 222 plate appearances.
