The Los Angeles Dodgers continued adding depth to the organization on Monday by claiming outfielder Daniel Fields off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Prior to Fields, the Dodgers claimed pitcher Danny Reynolds off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Fields was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the 2009 draft.

In 122 games with Triple-A Toledo last season, Fields hit .228/.335/.367 with seven home runs, 25 doubles and 41 RBIs; he also added 17 stolen bases.

Over six years in the Minors, the 24-year-old center fielder is a lifetime .244/.329/.370 hitter with 42 home runs, 260 RBIs and 86 stolen bases.

Fields made his Major League debut with the Tigers on June 4 against the Oakland Athletics. He went 1-for-3 with one double and two strikeouts. The Milwaukee Brewers claimed Fields off waivers from the Tigers on Sept. 19 and optioned him to Double-A Biloxi.

Of his time in the Minors, Fields has played 570 games in center field and 53 games in left field. The Dodgers now have 38 players on the 40-man roster with the additions of Fields and Reynolds.

Los Angeles recently lost outfielders Chris Heisey and Justin Ruggiano, who both elected free agency over accepting outright assignments to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Heisey went on to sign a Minor-League contract with the Washington Nationals.
