The 2020 season was a short but eventful one for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who finished with the best record in baseball at 43-17 and then went on to win their first World Series since 1988.

Winning the World Series has also made for an interesting start to the offseason, particularly for Cody Bellinger. After suffering a dislocated shoulder celebrating his National League Championship Series Game 7 game-winning home run, Bellinger was forced to undergo surgery to fix the issue that has hampered him multiple times in his big league career.

The 2019 NL MVP has also had some fun as he is a character in the newly-released “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” video game. Like many other Dodgers, Bellinger is known to enjoy playing video games in his spare time.

That didn’t stop Max Muncy from poking fun at his teammate while playing the game, via MLB Gaming:

On the field, Bellinger and Muncy both struggled in the shortened regular season but came up with plenty of respective big moments during the Dodgers’ postseason run.

Although they did not get to properly celebrate winning the World Series, which Muncy hopes they will eventually be able to do, it is good to see that both he and Bellinger are enjoying the start of their offseason.

Both have talked about how special the 2020 team was, and with a majority of the roster coming back next season, they will get a chance to repeat and break the records that Muncy thinks they could’ve been set this past year.

Bellinger expected to begin swing bat soon

As far as the health of Bellinger’s shoulder goes, he underwent surgery in the middle of November, and around that time it was reported that he would be able to begin swinging a bat four weeks after.

If Bellinger remains on schedule, he is expected to be 100% healthy by the start of Spring Training.
