As SportsNet LA is entering a seventh season as the exclusive home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the network again was recognized for their in-depth coverage of the team. SportsNet LA received a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award for “Access SportsNet: Dodgers,” in the category of Sports Series, Live Broadcast.
Spectrum News 1 (12), SportsNet LA (5) and the L.A. Lakers’ Spectrum SportsNet (4) earned a combined total of 21 Los Angeles Emmy Awards nominations. The annual awards honor locally produced programs in the categories of Crime and Social Issues, Culture and History, Arts, Human Interest, Sports, Environment, and Live and Breaking News Coverage.
SportsNet LA received their five nominations in the categories of Sports Series: programming (Post-Produced), programming (Live Broadcast), Sports Feature, Sports Tease and Short Promo – Sports.
More specifically, they were recognized for “Backstage: Dodgers,” “Access: SportsNet Dodgers,” “Legends of Dodger Baseball: Fernando Valenzuela,” “Dodgers-Yankees Tease,” and the short promo “Loyalty.”

SportsNet LA’s coverage is led by Alanna Rizzo (seven-time Emmy Award winner), Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser from Dodger Stadium. Under normal circumstances, the trio would also travel with the team for road games.
Rizzo expressed disappointment over the changes for this season during an exclusive interview with DodgerBlue.com, but she is also understanding of the required change.
John Hartung anchors coverage from the studio, with Jerry Hairston Jr., Nomar Garciaparra and Ned Colletti among the network’s rotating analysts.
SportsNet LA TV schedule for 2020
The Dodgers will face the San Francisco Giants on July 23 for their Opening Day matchup, which is a national broadcast. SportsNet LA will then televise their first of 56 games this season on Friday.
SportsNet LA additionally is carrying all three scrimmage games, which begin Sunday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
What channel on DirecTV?
An agreement between AT&T and Spectrum Networks brought SportsNet LA to DirecTV, AT&T TV, U-verse TV and AT&T TV NOW customers in Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii.
It LA is available to DirecTV customers on channel 690. U-verse TV customers with the U-100 and above packages and U200 Latino and above packages can watch on channel 780 (standard definition) and 1780 (high definition).
The Dodgers’ network remains available to Spectrum customers in the Los Angeles area with standard TV in high definition on channel 319. Spectrum customers living outside of the Southern California region with the Spectrum Sports Pass can watch select SportsNet LA programming (no live game coverage) on channel 331.
