Cody Bellinger spends much of any given year wearing a cap, but the reigning National League MVP was among the professional athletes selected to star in the Old Spice “Hair is Awesome. Hats are Dumb” campaign.
The Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star is accompanied by Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and 2018 NL MVP Christian Yelich, Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce and NBA player Tyler Herro. Each player recorded their own video to promote Old Spice’s new hair products.
Old Spice styling products aim to deliver a great look with minimal effort and removing the intimidation factor for men when making a selection. The lineup is comprised of seven unique products, including a pomade, styling gel, putty, fiber wax, clay and more.
In his video, Bellinger names the pomade as his favorite hair styling product.

Although Bellinger joked that hats would be no more, the next few months will have him in a Dodgers cap more times than not. While the club will be mindful of providing Bellinger with an opportunity to rest, he figures to be in the lineup for nearly the entire 60-game season.
As Bellinger is looking to build on an MVP season, the Dodgers are hoping to extend their reign over the National League West to eight consecutive years and also atone for last year’s first-round playoff exit.
Bellinger will be part of a lineup this season that features another MVP winner in Mookie Betts. The newcomer made an immediate impression in the Dodgers clubhouse and said he was looking forward to playing alongside Bellinger.
“It definitely is going to be pretty special. He won the MVP last year, so he’s definitely going to put on a show and I’ll do my best to keep up with him,” Betts said at his introductory press conference.
“We played them so I saw it up close and personal and saw it from afar. He won MVP and it wasn’t by accident. So just going out there and playing with him is definitely going to be fun and I’m sure we could just laugh and enjoy this whole ride.”
