Co-hosts Chris Rose and Kevin Millar provided the Turners with another opportunity to discuss their ongoing philanthropic efforts, which grew to include gifting new Adidas shoes to essential workers who were nominated on social media as heroes amid the pandemic.
The Turners continue to support The Dream Center by partnering with local restaurants to purchase food that is then delivered to the nonprofit and distributed as part of their daily meal program.
Clayton Kershaw, Chris Taylor, Corey Seager, Alex Wood, Ross Stripling and Max Muncy are among the Dodgers who have also contributed to The Dream Center.
“Justin Turner, Clayton Kershaw and all the Dodgers really, from Day 1 they stepped in and said, ‘We’ve got to make something happen. We know the kids are going to be in need. This is one of the only food banks within three miles of this area. We have got to step up and help them meet their needs during this time with the meals they are missing with school,'” Dream Center founder Matthew Barnett recently told DodgerBlue.com.
“So Justin, Clayton and the whole team started employing companies, keeping jobs and at the same time feeding thousands of people. It’s like a double victory. My heart is so overwhelmed with so much disbelief that all this is happening.”
The Turners’ appearance on “Intentional Talk” concluded with Justin revealing memorabilia in his collection, which was highlighted by a framed photograph and scorecard from one of Sandy Koufax’s no-hitters, and autographed Magic Johnson jerseys.
