With the Los Angeles Dodgers entering into the home stretch of their push toward a seventh consecutive National League West title, SportsNet LA announced five additional games will simulcast on KTLA 5 to close out the 2019 regular season.
KTLA 5 will also air SportsNet LA’s flagship pregame show, “Access SportsNet: Dodgers,” prior to every simulcast.
The five-game schedule is comprised of entire Saturday dates, with two being matchups at Dodger Stadium. The first simulcast is set to take place Aug. 31, when the Dodgers face the Arizona Diamondbacks.
This year marked a fourth consecutive season and fifth overall in which SportsNet LA made games available on the local station. In February, the Dodgers’ exclusive network announced a 10-game simulcast slate that was highlighted by matchups with the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs.
SportsNet LA is in their sixth season and despite the Dodgers’ run of NL West titles and making back-to-back World Series appearances, there’s yet to be a break in the television stalemate. There was an investigation into alleged collusion, but AT&T reached a settlement with the United States Justice Department to avoid penalty.
Fans who wish to receive 24/7 coverage of the Dodgers are encouraged to switch to Spectrum, as there continues to be a lack of evidence other distributors are motivated to begin carrying the channel.
