With time ticking down to complete a trade before the 1 p.m. PT deadline on July 31, the Los Angeles Dodgers additionally are working a juggling act to withstand mounting injuries.

Already without Rich Hill until September, the club has additionally lost Chris Taylor and Ross Stripling to the 10-day injured list within the past two weeks. Taylor is expected to be sidelined by the non-displaced fracture at least into August, while Stripling could miss multiple starts with right biceps tendinitis.

The Dodgers additionally are poised to place Kiké Hernandez on the 10-day IL, with that likely occurring Monday. Facing the prospect of no longer having a backup shortstop, the Dodgers traded for Kristopher Negrón late Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, Stripling’s injury created a void in the rotation for Tuesday’s matchup with the Colorado Rockies. It appears that will be filled by recalling Tony Gonsolin from Triple-A Oklahoma City, according to Ron Cervenka of ThinkBlueLA.com

ThinkBlueLA has learned from a trusted source that the Dodgers have recalled right-hander Tony Gonsolin from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Gonsolin received his first call-up and made his MLB just over one month ago against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Well-placed balls by the Diamondbacks and sloppy defense behind him led to Gonsolin facing a 4-0 deficit before he could record an out in the first inning.

The right-hander wound up allowing six runs (four earned) and collected three strikeouts against one walk in a mere four innings of work. Gonsolin did line a single into center field for his first hit and overall enjoyed the experience despite the end result.

The Dodgers have not yet announced the roster move, nor confirmed that Gonsolin will start at Coors Field. He’s struggled since returning from the seven-day injured list, failing to log more than 2.2 innings in any of his past three outings.

Overall, Gonsolin is 1-4 with a 4.95 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in 12 starts for Oklahoma City this season. He missed time in April and May due to an oblique injury.
