When the Los Angeles Dodgers start their final homestand of the 2026 regular season they will do so as one of the latest teams to have the spotlight put on them by Apple.
Their series opener against the San Francisco Giants was selected for an exclusive “Friday Night Baseball” stream on Apple TV, and the game at Dodger Stadium also is going to be presented in Apple Immersive. It represents Apple’s continued expansion into broadcasting professional sporting games and doing so while highlighting the uniqueness of the Apple Vision Pro headset.
During the last NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers had five games that were available to stream on the wearable technology.
Apple Vision Pro experience
Apple Vision Pro streams of MLB games leverage 3D video recorded in 8K resolution with a 180-degree view of the field. Like with Lakers games in Apple Immersive, Dodgers fans will be taken into the heart of the action, from the dugout to the on-deck circle, and more.
The experience features a dedicated broadcast consisting of Paul Severino (play-by-play), Xavier Scruggs (analyst) and Michelle Margaux (reporter). They will be supported by dedicated replays specific to the Apple Vision Pro headset, in addition to an immersive graphics package that includes team lineups and stats floating in the viewer’s space.
The Apple Immersive broadcast remains live in between innings, pitching changes and other breaks, further putting the viewer inside Dodger Stadium without needing to buy a ticket. The stadium experience is enhanced by ambisonic microphones that capture sounds in Spatial Audio.
Apple Vision Pro users with an Apple TV subscription in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States can stream MLB games live directly through the Apple TV app. Full game replays, as well as a highlight package of key moments, will be available on demand in the Apple TV app for Vision Pro.
For the traditional “Friday Night Baseball” stream on Apple TV, that broadcast team is going to feature Wayne Randazzo (play-by-play), Dontrelle Willis (analyst) and Heidi Watney (reporter).
It will also include more than a dozen iPhone 18 Pro phones placed throughout Dodger Stadium. They will capture live gameplay from unique vantage points and scenes from around the ballpark, including batting practice, player introductions and dugout perspectives.
“iPhone will offer unique perspectives that would be difficult to achieve with traditional broadcast cameras thanks to its small footprint,” Apple explained in a statement.
MLB games on Apple Vision Pro
The first MLB game to stream in Apple Immersive was a matchup between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees on Aug. 28. That was followed the next week with an Apple Vision Pro experience available for the game between the Los Angeles Angels and Pittsburgh Pirates on Sept. 4, and last week’s series opener of San Diego Padres-Giants.
The Giants and Dodgers are now concluding the Apple Vision Pro schedule of MLB games for 2026.
