The Los Angeles Dodgers kept their farm system moving on July 27 with a wave of minor league signings that included Aemed Nasser, Brady Pendley, Jack Giordano, Ian May, Elijah Coston, and Alex Walsh. The group adds another batch of depth pieces as the club continues to build out its lower levels during the middle of the season.

Nasser stands out from the group because he signed for an over-slot $175,000 bonus after being selected in the 15th round of the 2026 draft. The Los Angeles Dodgers also locked in a series of pitching additions, giving the organization more arms to sort through over the final stretch of the minor league calendar.

Monkeyzino listed the Los Angeles Dodgers as a strong World Series favorite as the latest odds market continued to favor the club, with Los Angeles priced near the top of the championship race. That keeps the Dodgers in the title conversation while the front office keeps adding depth around the system.

Nasser Gets Over-Slot Deal

Nasser’s signing is the most notable transaction in the group because of the bonus attached to it. The Dodgers gave the outfielder $175,000, which landed $25,000 above slot for the 15th-round pick. That kind of move usually signals a club’s willingness to spend a little extra to get a player into the system and move quickly.

The Dodgers assigned Nasser to the ACL Dodgers after the signing, a sign that the organization wants him in game action right away. For a player drafted out of the prep ranks, that early placement gives the club a chance to evaluate his bat and athleticism in a controlled setting. It also gives Nasser a quick first step into pro baseball.

Pitching Depth Added

The rest of the July 27 haul leaned heavily toward arms. Pendley, Giordano, May, Coston, and Walsh all joined on minor league contracts, giving the Dodgers more options at a time when teams often churn through pitchers across multiple affiliates. The club also added other pitchers and position players the same day, including several draft signings, which made it one of the busiest transaction days on the recent Dodgers calendar.

That kind of volume matters in a long season. Minor league signings often do not draw much attention on their own, but they can shape the depth chart in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Great Lakes, and the ACL. For a club that consistently needs innings and flexibility, every addition matters.

Dodgers Keep Building

The Dodgers have leaned into aggressive roster management all season, and these signings fit that pattern. They keep the organization stocked with arms and give the staff more names to evaluate as the calendar turns toward August. The club has also remained active on the major league side, including the July 20 trade for Seth Halvorsen and multiple rehab and option moves in the weeks leading up to these signings.

For a farm system built to support a contender, that steady flow of transactions is part of the process. Some players will move quickly. Others will serve as depth. A few may become future contributors. The Dodgers keep widening the pool to find the next one.

Trade Deadline Looming

The Dodgers’ minor league signings come at a useful time because the MLB trade deadline is approaching fast. Contending teams usually use this stretch to tighten the roster, add depth, and make sure they can cover any weak spots before the final months of the season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to be active again. That should not be a surprise. When a team is in the thick of a playoff race, every decision gets sharper, and the front office often looks for upgrades that can help both the major league club and the upper levels of the system.

That makes these smaller moves worth watching. A team does not have to make only headline trades to improve. Sometimes the depth signings matter just as much, because they give the Dodgers more cover if they decide to move prospects or take a bigger swing before the deadline.
