The Los Angeles Dodgers hosted their second ONE PIECE Night at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, and fans again turned out in droves for the coveted straw hat and card giveaway items.

Despite the Dodgers announcing the first 52,000 fans in attendance would receive the hat and card, there were long lines outside of Dodger Stadium several hours before first pitch against the San Diego Padres. The change in giveaway policy had only previously been implemented for Shohei Ohtani bobbleheads, which are given to the first 54,000 fans.

Dodger Stadium attendance for ONE PIECE Night

The Dodgers announced an attendance of 54,081 for the series opener against the Padres, good for their 11th sellout of the season. That also set a 2026 high across baseball as the highest paid attendance of the season.

Additionally, it represented the biggest crowd at Dodger Stadium for a game this year. That previously was the Dodgers’ announced attendance of 53,911 for their series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays on June 15. It coincided with the team’s annual Filipino Heritage Night celebration.

Fans were treated to a thrilling comeback win as the Dodgers scored 12 unanswered runs after falling into a 6-0 deficit by the second inning. Following the team’s 26th come-from-behind win of the season was a ONE PIECE Dodger Stadium drone show.

It suggested future collaborations between the Dodgers and Toei Animation as the drone show ended with a “To be continued” message.

In 2025, the Dodgers’ largest home crowd was 54,154 in announced attendance for Ice Cube bobblehead night. Overall Dodger Stadium for the 2025 season finished at 4,012,470 and with 25 sellouts. The gave the Dodgers 4 million in home attendance for the first time in franchise history.

They are on track to repeat that accomplishment this season as the Dodgers have drawn 2,088,965 in Dodger Stadium attendance through 41 home games. The 50,950 average attendance is more than last year’s 49,537.

Should they remain at their current pace, the Dodgers would set a new franchise record at more than 4.1 million in total Dodger Stadium attendance.

Notable giveaways that figure to help get them there are the Fourth of July commemorative coin, Freddie Freeman’s walk-off home run bobblehead (July 6), two remaining Ohtani bobbleheads (July 8, Aug. 22), replica player World Series rings (July 28) and Clayton Kershaw bobblehead night (Aug. 14).
