The Los Angeles Dodgers placed Tommy Edman, Blake Snell, Gavin Stone, Brusdar Graterol, Brock Stewart, Landon Knack and Bobby Miller on the injured list ahead of 2026 Opening Day.

Edman was placed on the 10-day IL due to right ankle surgery, while Miller heads to the 60-day IL because of right shoulder soreness.

Snell (Left shoulder fatigue), Stewart (right shoulder surgery), Stone (right shoulder inflammation), Graterol (right shoulder surgery), and Knack (unannounced) were all placed on the 15-day IL.

All seven are retroactive to March 22.

Miller’s placement on the 60-day IL opened a spot on the 40-man roster. That was used to sign Jake Cousins, who is also likely to end up on the 60-day IL.

Dodgers place seven on injured list

Tommy Edman

Edman is recovering from a debridement procedure on his right ankle that addressed the trouble he encountered in parts of the last two seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Edman said before the start of Spring Training that he wouldn’t force himself into action if his ankle isn’t completely back to full health, and the Dodgers are hoping to have him back at the end of May.

Blake Snell

Snell dealt with a shoulder issue throughout the 2025 season that forced him onto the 60-day injured list. Even upon his return, Snell was never fully healthy, and that lingering issue persisted throughout the playoffs.

Snell is also expected back near the end of May, but he personally hopes to return by the end of April. The left-hander got to the point of throwing short bullpen sessions in Spring Training.

Gavin Stone

Stone missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from a complex right shoulder surgery that repaired his labrum, rotator cuff and capsule.

He reported to Spring Training healthy, but suffered a setback in his recovery when he dealt with shoulder discomfort after throwing a bullpen session that prompted an MRI on his right shoulder.

The results were encouraging, showing only inflammation and no structural damage, but Stone was shut down from throwing. He recently resumed playing catch and hopes to throw off a mound in April.

Brock Stewart

Stewart was shut down at the end of last season due to right shoulder inflammation shortly after the Dodgers traded for him.

The team decided to have the reliever undergo right shoulder surgery last season to prioritize his long-term health, rather than trying to get him back for the postseason.

He has now been progressing well, and the right-hander has been throwing bullpen sessions. The expectation is that he will return in the first half of the season.

Brusdar Graterol

Graterol reported to Spring Training feeling healthy after missing all of 2025 and most of 2024 due to ongoing injury issues, but the club was forced to slow-play his build-up and then shut him down for lack of progress.

Graterol has not pitched since undergoing right labrum surgery in 2024, and he is currently in a holding pattern until he starts to improve.

Landon Knack

Knack’s injury inclusion comes as a surprise, and the Dodgers did not announce why he was being placed on the injured list. The right-hander has received plenty of opportunities in spring, making four starts.

However, it has been nearly two weeks since he last pitched.

Bobby Miller

Miller did not appear in a Spring Training game this year due to his right shoulder discomfort. He did advance to throwing bullpen sessions near the middle of camp, but remains a long while away before he can return.

It is unclear what his current progress is.
