Dodgers Not Visiting White House In April Due To Scheduling Conflicts

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeating the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 World Series was accompanied by President Donald Trump extending the team an invitation to visit the White House for the second consecutive year.

It was widely believed that the Dodgers would be making the trip in early April, when they begin their first road trip of the regular season with a three-game series against the Washington Nationals.

L.A. took that approach last year, attending a White House ceremony before playing the Nationals, which recognized their 2024 World Series victory over the New York Yankees.

However, the Dodgers will not be visiting the White House during their road trip in April, via Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group:

The Dodgers’ first road trip of the regular season will start in Washington with three games against the Nationals on April 3-5. But sources confirmed that the Dodgers will not visit the White House.

The Dodgers will not be visiting the White House in April due to scheduling conflicts:

However, scheduling issues will prevent the team from visiting during its series against the Nationals. All three games at Nationals Park on Easter and Passover weekend are day games – 1 p.m. ET on Friday (the Nationals’ home opener), 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Dodgers are off on Thursday, the day before the series starts, and could theoretically travel early and visit the White House on April 2, but there are scheduling conflicts that prevent that.

When the Dodgers visited the White House last year, it was before a night game against the Nationals. They won’t have that luxury this year, as all three of their matchups in Washington, D.C., are in the afternoon.

The team considered leaving a day early to visit the White House on April 2, but scheduling issues made that impossible.

When could Dodgers visit White House?

While the Dodgers will no longer visit the White House in April, they are still likely to go at some point this year. The most likely scenario is the team making the trip sometime in July.

The Dodgers could travel to Washington, D.C., before the start of a road series against the Yankees from July 17-19, but that would require players to shorten their All-Star break by a day.

They could also decide to visit the White House on July 23, which is a scheduled off day before the team begins a three-game series against the New York Mets at Citi Field.
