As the Los Angeles Dodgers look to upgrade both their outfield and offense, they continue to be linked to star free agent Kyle Tucker.
The Dodgers are reportedly among the three most aggressive teams trying to sign Tucker, along with the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets.
The belief across the league remains that Tucker lands with the Blue Jays, while the Dodgers and Mets prefer to sign him on a short-term deal with a high average annual value (AAV).
As the negotiations go on between Tucker and the clubs, he reportedly met with all three teams, according to Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio:

Tucker reportedly visited the Blue Jays’ Spring Training facility in Florida last month. That was considered particularly noteworthy given he’s a Tampa native.
It’s unclear if the Dodgers or Mets have met with Tucker in person or through Zoom. Given that he lives in Florida, it’s more likely they talked online.
The 28-year-old is coming off a solid season with the Cubs that saw him hit .266/.377/.464 with 25 doubles, four triples, 22 home runs, 73 RBI and 25 stolen bases in 597 plate appearances across 136 games.
Contract projections widely range for Tucker, but an AAV in the $35 to $40 million range per season is around the expectation, depending on the years.
Last month, it was reported the Dodgers had a preference for signing Tucker to a contract similar to Bregman’s deal with the Boston Red Sox heading into the 2025 season, which was essentially a one-year deal with options to protect the infielder in case of injury.
That worked out for Bregman as he ended up cashing in on a contract with the Chicago Cubs this offseason.
Kyle Tucker wants to avoid the spotlight?
One potential driving force in Tucker’s negotiations is that he reportedly has a preference for not being the center of attention. Although all three teams pursuing him play in major markets, Tucker would not be asked to be the primary star on any of them.
