Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani Baseball Card Sells For Record $3 Million

Shohei Ohtani collectibles have skyrocketed in value over the years, ranging from baseball cards, home run balls and other game-used items.

The 2024 Topps Ohtani Black Dynasty “50/50” Relic sold for $1.067 million earlier this year, becoming the first Los Angeles Dodgers card of any kind to sell for more than $1 million.

Ohtani has now topped that mark with his Topps Chrome Gold Logoman Autograph card auctioning for $3 million last week.

The card is one-of-one and includes the gold logo patch that he wore on one of his Dodgers jerseys this past season to commemorate his 2024 National League MVP Award.

Ohtani wore this particular patch in the Dodgers’ 15-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on April 29, a game that saw the two-way star hit his seventh home run of the season.

The Gold Logoman Ohtani card was pulled by Pete Anderson and his 11-year-old twin sons in Minnesota. They had purchased the right to own any Dodgers cards that came out of a select number of packs of 2025 Topps Chrome.

The family had a chance to redeem the Ohtani card and immediately put it up for auction at Fanatics. They later revealed plans to use some of the profit on more baseball cards, while setting some aside for future college tuitions.

Shohei Ohtani card records

The Gold Logoman Ohtani card is the highest-selling card in Fanatics Collect’s history and the most paid for a modern baseball card since the $3.96 million Mike Trout autographed rookie Superfractor sale in 2020.

The Ohtani card fell a little short of surpassing Babe Ruth’s 1914 Baltimore News rookie card for the highest-selling baseball card of 2025 ($4.03 million).
