Dodgers Roster: Michael Siani Claimed Off Waivers From Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Michael Siani off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. With the addition of Siani, the Dodgers now have 39 players on their 40-man roster before the signing of Edwin Díaz is made official.

Siani played parts of four seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals before he was claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves on Nov. 6, 2025.

Siani was designated for assignment by the Braves as a corresponding move to their signing of Mike Yastrzemski to a two-year, $23 million contract.

Siani is a glove-first center fielder who has experience in all three outfield positions. In 2024, his 16 outs above average ranked in the 99th percentile of players.

Although Siani appeared in a career-high 124 games that season, he spent the majority of this year with Triple-A Memphis and played in only 19 games for the Cardinals.

While with the Memphis Redbirds this past season, Siani hit just .209/.307/.329 with 12 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 41 RBI over 101 games. He added 28 stolen bases and was caught stealing just five times.

In 160 games across parts of four Major League seasons, Siani has batted .221/.277/.270 with seven doubles, two home runs and 20 RBI. He additionally has 21 career stolen bases, with 20 of those coming in 2024.

How Michael Siani fits with Dodgers

Siani has not yet qualified for arbitration and is under team control through the 2031 season. Moreover, he still has one Minor League option season remaining.

Thus, the 26-year-old figures to start the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City and be among the depth the Dodgers potentially rely on if a need emerges in their outfield. Siani’s role could be one similar to what Justin Dean held this past season.

Dean was outrighted off the Dodgers’ roster and claimed by the San Francisco Giants shortly after the World Series concluded.
