The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays competed in one of the most memorable World Series in MLB history, drawing record viewership amid becoming an instant classic.

Game 7 in particular was thrilling and now is serving as the basis of an MLB Network special featuring Bob Costas and Tom Verducci.

The Hall of Fame broadcaster and five-time Emmy winner reunited for “2025 World Series, Game 7,” which premieres at 4 p.m. PT on Thursday afternoon. The MLB Network special is going to re-air that night at 9 p.m. as well.

“As the closing act of one of the greatest World Series ever, Game 7 was an unmatched combination of excitement, tension, managerial chess moves, individual heroics and so many heart pounding moments in which the outcome hung in the balance,” Costas said in a statement.

“I have seen a lot of baseball in my life, but I cannot recall a single game with so much at stake that combined as many elements as this one.”

Throughout the two-hour special, Costas and Verducci revisit defining plays, pivotal decisions, momentum swings and emotional moments that shaped the all-time matchup. Footage is going to include never-before-seen angles and exclusive commentary from players involved.

Furthermore, Costas and Verdugicc are going to provide their insight, in-depth analysis and historical context around the Dodgers becoming MLB’s first repeat champion in 25 years by defeating the Blue Jays, who made their first World Series appearance since 1993.

“Think you know what happened in 2025 World Series Game 7? Think again,” Verducci said. “Watch the ‘MLB Network Special’ on one of the greatest games ever played and you will discover new insights, new camera angles and new behind-the-scenes stories. It’s the Mariana Trench of deep dives.”

Throughout the special Verducci’s is going to provide his deep-dive breakdowns of several of the game’s most remarkable moments, including Miguel Rojas’ game-tying home run in the ninth inning, Andy Pages’ remarkable catch and Will Smith’s decisive blast in the 11th.

Verducci has referred to Pages’ play, during which he collided with Kiké Hernández, “one of the greatest catches in World Series history.”

Dodgers World Series reaction

Manager Dave Roberts was at a loss for words in his press conference after the Dodgers won a thrilling Game 7. He gave praise to several key contributors, including Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitching out of the bullpen without any days of rest.

Justin Turner, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Ryan Pepiot were among those outside the Dodgers organization to rave about the World Series and noted the positive impact it should have on the sport as a whole.
