Kiké Hernández Trolls Drake During World Series Celebration At Dodger Stadium

The Los Angeles Dodgers playing the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 World Series added another layer to longstanding feud between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Their battle began last year as the two artists traded barbs through a flurry of new songs released in rapid succession. By most accounts, Lamar, a Compton, Calif. native, was declared the proverbial winner.

Lamar’s “Not Like Us” became an anthem of sorts for the Dodgers as they played their way to winning the 2024 World Series title. Their use of the song and mantra carried into this season, and was especially relevant once the Blue Jays won the American League pennant.

Drake is a proud supporter of Toronto sports teams, and he was in attendance for multiple World Series games at Rogers Centre. He also posted a photo of Shohei Ohtani down on one knee after a strike out against Trey Yesavage in Game 5.

In similar fashion to Fat Joe last year, Drake was the subject of some digs from Kiké Hernández in his speech during the World Series celebration at Dodger Stadium.

“I apologize for the blackout that’s about to happen,” Hernández began.

Kiké Hernández quotes Drake

October hero

Drake was born Oct. 24, which is the genesis for his OVO brand name. It’s shorthand for “October’s Very Own.”

And that’s exactly how Hernández described himself, in reference to his strong postseason reputation.

“It’s October’s very own,” Hernández said, much to the delight of fans in attendance.

World Series rings

As Hernández continued speaking, he said, “Standing here, playing the most games in October for this franchise, for this really big team that has a lot of really big rings, it’s a true honor.”

This reference by Hernández was a play on the chorus from “Big Rings” by Drake and Future. In it, Drake raps, “I got a really big team and they need some really big rings.”
