2025 Dodgers World Series Roster: Edgardo Henriquez, Will Klein Added

The Los Angeles Dodgers finalized their 26-man postseason roster for the 2025 World Series, which does not include Alex Vesia.

The Dodgers announced on Thursday that Vesia was away from the team in order to be alongside his wife, Kayla, due to “a deeply personal family matter.”

Comments from manager Dave Roberts shortly after the announcement indicated the Dodgers were not certain if Vesia would be available at any point for the World Series. His inclusion would be possible if Vesia was placed on the Family Medical Emergency List.

That procedural process requires a player to miss a minimum of three days and up to seven.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers once again carrying a two-way player in Shohei Ohtani, 12 pitchers and 13 position players on their World Series roster.

In addition to Vesia, change from the Dodgers’ postseason roster for the National League Championship Series include the removal of Ben Casparius. Edgardo Henriquez and Will Klein were added onto the Dodgers roster for the World Series.

Henriquez gave up one hit and walked two batters without recording an out during his appearance in Game 1 of the Wild Card Series. He did not pitch the following night against the Cincinnati Reds and hadn’t been active for the NL Division Series or NLCS.

Meanwhile, Klein is on a Dodgers playoff roster for the first time. He went 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 14 games with the Dodgers during the regular season.

Tanner Scott had been hopeful to return, but he remains inactive after getting replaced ahead of Game 4 of the NLDS due to an emergency abscess excision surgery on his lower body. That made Scott unavailable for the NLCS, but he was eligible to rejoin the Dodgers roster for the Fall Classic.

“I feel a lot better now,” Scott said before the Dodgers’ workout on Monday. “There was a few days that I definitely felt miserable. But I feel a lot better now. Throwing, threw a couple bullpens. We’ll see where it takes me.”

Roberts revealed that Scott needed medical clearance in order to be added to the Dodgers’ roster for the World Series. Even if that happened, L.A. could have simply decided to not bring him back.

Scott struggled in his first year with the Dodgers as he posted a 4.74 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in 57 innings across 61 appearances. Scott last pitched an MLB game on Sept. 26, when he recorded a save against the Seattle Mariners.
