The Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers are officially set to play in the National League Championship Series that begins Monday with Game 1 at American Family Field.
The Dodgers are back in the NLCS for a second consecutive year after sweeping the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card round and eliminating the Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series.
Meanwhile, the Brewers punched their ticket to play for the pennant by holding off the Chicago Cubs in five games of their NL Division Series matchup.
Milwaukee didn’t participate in a Wild Card Series as a result of finishing with the best record at 97-65 and clinching a first-round bye. That also gives them home-field advantage over the Dodgers in the NLCS.
The Dodgers and Brewers are facing each other for the third time in MLB postseason history. Prior to this year, their most recent meeting came in the 2020 NL Wild Card Series. L.A. swept Milwaukee in two games as part of their run to winning the World Series.
The Dodgers also eliminated the Brewers in Game 7 of the 2018 NLCS to advance to that year’s Fall Classic, where they would fall to the Boston Red Sox.
After playing Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee, the NLCS shifts to Dodger Stadium for Games 3 and 4, and a potential Game 5.
All NLCS games will air on TBS, with streaming available through HBO Max.
The Dodgers lost all six head-to-head meetings against the Brewers during the regular season and were outscored, 31-16. However, five of the six games were determined by two runs or fewer, including all three matchups at Dodger Stadium.
