FOCO Selling Shohei Ohtani Bobbleheads For New 50-50 Club

FOCO released new Los Angeles Dodgers bobbleheads to celebrate Shohei Ohtani’s latest accomplishments of hitting 50 home runs and also recording 50 strikeouts as a pitcher during the same season.

Ohtani reached both marks in an impressive performance on Tuesday night, although it wasn’t enough for the Dodgers to avoid another loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

As a pitcher, Ohtani completed five no-hit innings before being removed because of the Dodgers’ meticulous planning and handling of his progression. Ohtani finished with five strikeouts to give him 54 on the season.

In the eighth inning, Ohtani hit a 430-foot home run that pulled the Dodgers to within 6-5. They tied the game before Blake Treinen allowed a decisive three-run homer in the ninth.

Having hit 54 long balls last year, Ohtani became the first player in Dodgers franchise history to slug 50 or more home runs in consecutive seasons.

He also joined elite company by having back-to-back 50-homer seasons, as it’s only been done by six other players in MLB history. Babe Ruth was the first to accomplish the feat, doing so twice, first from 1920-1921 and then again over 1927-1928.

More recently, it had been achieved by Mark McGwire (1996-1999), Ken Griffey Jr. (1996-1998) and Sammy Sosa (1998-2001). Alex Rodriguez (2001-2002) was the last player with back-to-back 50-home run seasons before Ohtani ended the drought.

One of FOCO’s newest bobbleheads is a dual version that features Ohtani both hitting and pitching. There are two bobbleheads on the base, one each of Ohtani taking a swing and delivering a pitch.

Across the background are text displays of “50 HOME RUNS” and “50 STRIKEOUTS” along with the date to further highlight the moment Ohtani put himself in rare air.

With 50 home runs and 54 strikeouts, Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to reach both of those marks in a single season.

The second Ohtani bobblehead from FOCO specifically commemorates his back-to-back seasons of at least 50 home runs. Last year Ohtani became the first player in Dodgers franchise history with 50 home runs in a single season.

Now he’s the first Dodgers player with consecutive seasons of at least that many.

The Ohtani home run bobblehead includes text displays of “BACK TO BACK 50+ HOME RUN SEASONS” and “2024 – 2025” on the front of the base to honor the historic milestone.

Both Ohtani bobbleheads are a limited-edition release and won’t be restocked once quantities sell out.
