The 2025 MLB postseason schedule begins with the Wild Card Series on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for both the American League and National League.
There are once again 12 teams that will make the MLB playoffs, with eight starting in the Wild Card round for a best-of-three matchup.
The top two division winners in the AL and NL receive the Nos. 1 and 2 seeds in the MLB postseason bracket and await opponents that will emerge from the Wild Card Series.
Like in previous years, the AL and NL Division Series begin on the same day, with that being Saturday, Oct. 4. Both of the NLDS matchups include an off day between Games 1 and 2 despite travel not being necessary.
The ALDS will be played on a more traditional schedule of back-to-back days when in the same city and off days only after Game 2 and a potential Game 4.
The AL Championship Series starts Saturday, Oct. 12, regardless of how the two ALDS unfold.
The NL Championship Series schedule starts on Sunday, Oct. 13. A potential Game 7 of the NLCS is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 21. If the ALCS goes to a Game 7 as well, that would be played on Monday, Oct. 20.
Game 1 of the 2025 World Series is on Friday, Oct. 24. Unlike last October, the 2025 World Series schedule does not include flexible dates that are dependent on how long the Championship Series lasts.
If a Game 7 is necessary to determine the 2025 World Series champion, that is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.
Scheduled off days during the World Series for travel are Sunday, Oct. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 30.
