While the Los Angeles Dodgers faced a need in their bullpen and desire to acquire an outfielder before the MLB trade deadline passes on Thursday, their first move was to part with Hunter Feduccia in exchange for Paul Gervase, Adam Serinowski and Ben Rortvedt in a three-team deal involving the Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds.
That came hours after reported Dodgers trade target Jhoan Duran was sent to the Philadelphia Phillies. The Minnesota Twins received prospects Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait in the trade.
Meanwhile, the New York Mets pried away St. Louis Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley, who was another reliever the Dodgers were connected to.
All the while various position players the Dodgers reportedly have interest in remained with their teams. That changed Thursday as the Dodgers are acquiring Alex Call from the Washington Nationals, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN:

Dodgers pitching prospects Eriq Swan and Sean Paul Liñan were traded to the Nationals for Call, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com:

The Dodgers’ trade for Call came after the Minnesota Twins sent Harrison Bader to the Phillies. The Dodgers were among the teams with reported interest in Bader, who would have represented a defensive upgrade for their outfield.
L.A. has also remained connected to a potential Steven Kwan trade, but that never appeared to be much of a possibility.
Alex Call stats
Call hit .274/.371/.386 with nine doubles, three home runs and 26 RBI over 72 games with the Nationals. He primarily played right field but has experience at all three spots in the outfield.
Call is under team control through 2029.
