2025 MLB All-Star Game Rosters: Starters, Reserve Players & Pitchers

Full American League and National League rosters for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game are officially set, pending potential replacements for pitchers who appear in games the Sunday before and possible injuries.

Starters were voted in by fans, while pitchers and reserve players received election by way of player ballot choices and picks made by the commissioner’s office.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lead all teams with five All-Star selections. Shohei Ohtani (designated hitter), Will Smith (catcher) and Freddie Freeman (first base) will start for the NL, while Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Clayton Kershaw are part of the pitching staff.

Kershaw made the All-Star team as a “legacy pick” by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred; It’s an extra roster spot that is used to honor a player’s career. Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera notably were legend picks in 2022.

With the inclusion of Kershaw, the Dodgers have at least five players headed to the Midsummer Classic for the sixth year in a row. That is tied with the 1949-1954 Dodgers for the fourth-longest such streak.

The AL and NL rosters include plenty of new faces with 19 players receiving their first All-Star nod. That’s down from 32 first-time participants in last year’s event.

All-Star Game information

MLB All-Star Week includes the HBCU Swingman Classic on July 11, All-Star Village from July 12-15, All-Star Futures Game on July 12, All-Star Celebrity Softball Game on July 12, MLB Draft from July 13-14, Home Run Derby on July 14 and 95th edition of the Midsummer Classic on July 15 at Truist Park in Atlanta.

The 2025 MLB All-Star Game will be televised nationally by Fox, with first pitch set for 5 p.m. PT. Fox Deportes is going to provide Spanish language coverage in the United States.

Fans will once again have the opportunity to participate in the official voting for the Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP Award. During the Midsummer Classic, fans can vote exclusively at MLB.com and the 30 club sites.

The online fan ballot counts for 20% of the vote, with the other 80% coming from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) and All-Star Game announcers.
