Los Angeles Dodgers prospects Josue De Paula and Zyhir Hope were named to the National League roster for the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game that’s being played Saturday, July 12.
The 26th annual event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. PT and will air live on MLB Network with simulcasts on MLB.TV, MLB.com and in the MLB App. Melanie Newman (play-by-play), Yonder Alonso (analyst), Jonathan Mayo (analyst) and Sande Charles (reporter) are going to be on the call.
The 2025 Futures Game is being played at Truist Park, which is also hosting the Celebrity Softball Game, Home Run Derby and MLB All-Star Game this year.
Scheduled for seven innings, the All-Star Futures Game once again is formatted for American League vs. NL. It was first introduced in 2019 after 20 years of a United States roster facing off against a World team.
The NL holds a 3-1-1 advantage over the AL in the current format.
Atlanta Braves legends will be featured as managers in the Futures Game, with Hall of Famer Chipper Jones leading the NL team, and two-time All-Star Marquis Grissom guiding the AL.
Mark DeRosa, Johnny Estrada, Tim Hudson, Andruw Jones, Ryan Klesko, Nick Markakis, Fred McGriff and Dale Murphy are among those who will be involved as coaches as well.
Among the 50 players named to this year’s Futures Game, 42 participated in the second annual Spring Breakout this past March. De Paula and Hope were part of the Dodgers prospects due to play against Minor Leaguers from the Chicago Cubs, but the Spring Breakout game at Camelback Ranch was canceled due to inclement weather.
De Paula and Hope join Corey Seager (2014), Julio Urías (2014), Yadier Álvarez (2017), Diego Cartaya (2022), Dalton Rushing (2023), and Thayron Liranzo and Jeral Perez (2024) as Dodgers prospects to play in the All-Star Futures Game despite not advancing past High-A at the time.
From that group only Rushing, De Paula and Hope remain part of the Dodgers organization.
Overall, there have been a total of 30 Dodgers prospects named to the Futures Game.
