2025 MLB All-Star Game Voting Update: Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith & More Dodgers On Track To Reach Phase 2

The second 2025 MLB All-Star Game voting update has much of the same for the Los Angeles Dodgers, including Shohei Ohtani continuing to pace all National League players.

Ohtani’s 2,521,718 votes are most in the NL and trail only New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge 2,699,483. Judge also was the top vote-getter in MLB’s first update last week.

Meanwhile, Will Smith (2,099,944 votes) and Freddie Freeman (2,095,672) still lead at their respective positions as well and remain on track to represent the Dodgers as 2025 All-Star Game starters.

Smith has the second-highest vote total among NL players and is well ahead of the Chicago Cubs’ Carson Kelly (769,860).

Teoscar Hernández also is still pacing to advance to Phase 2 of MLB All-Star Game voting. Fans have helped Hernández improve his standing by rising from second to third among NL outfielders with 1,366,537. Andy Pages remains in seventh place, which is just on the outside looking in for outfielders who will move onto the second round.

Elsewhere for the Dodgers, Tommy Edman is still in second place behind Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte but that would allow him to be an All-Star finalist and stay in contention for a starting spot when Phase 2 of voting begins.

That also applies to Max Muncy, who is second to San Diego Padres’ Manny Machado. New York Mets’ Francisco Lindor is ahead of Mookie Betts at shortstop.

Voting for 2025 MLB All-Star Game voting

All-Star Game voting consists of two phases, with the first determining the players who will advance to the next round before a starter at each position is decided during phase 2.

The top overall vote-getter in each league automatically earns a starting spot and skips phase 2, while the rest of the finalists compete in the second round. If an outfielder is a league’s top vote-getter, phase 2 voting at the position will still take place to determine the remaining two starters among the next four outfield finalists.

The leading vote-getters at every position and top six outfielders from each league will be revealed on MLB Network, beginning at 3 p.m. PT on Thursday.

Phase 2 of MLB All-Star Game voting begins at 9 a.m. PT on Monday, June 30.

MLB All-Star Game starters will then be announced that night on ESPN, beginning at 4 p.m. Reserves and pitchers who help make up complete AL and NL rosters for the 2025 All-Star Game will be revealed at 2 p.m., on ESPN as well, on July 6.

Pitchers and reserves for both teams — totaling 23 for each — will be determined through a combination of “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the commissioner’s office.

Dave Roberts is going to manage the NL All-Stars due to the Dodgers winning the pennant last season. New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone is at the helm of the AL team.

The Atlanta Braves are hosting the 2025 All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 15.
