Dodgers Deny Federal Agents Access To Dodger Stadium Parking Lots

The Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to announce plans to assist local communities that have been impacted by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement in what will be the first comment or act from the organization since the raids began earlier this month.

To this point, Kiké Hernández is the lone member of the Dodgers to have addressed the matter. Former Dodgers Spanish-language broadcaster Jaime Jarrín also shared a message on social media, and so too did SportsNet LA analyst Adrián González.

As the Dodgers prepare to unveil their efforts in supporting immigrant communities, federal agents descended upon Dodger Stadium on Thursday morning.

The Dodgers confirmed they did not allow ICE agents to enter the stadium and plan to play Thursday’s game as scheduled.

This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.

Shortly after the Dodgers issued a statement, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement denied their agents being at Dodger Stadium.

False. We were never there. https://t.co/ZquYiW0miQ

Local television news reports showed live shots of agents who identified themselves as being with the Department of Homeland Security sitting outside Gate E of Dodger Stadium.

DHS said the agents who attempted to enter the stadium parking lot were with the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP).

“This has nothing to do with the Dodgers,” DHS posted on social media. “CBP vehicles were in the parking lot very briefly, unrelated to any operation or enforcement.”

ICE and CBP are federal agencies under the Department of Homeland Security.

The militarized raids over recent weeks have been met with heavy resistance and protests not just around Los Angeles but throughout the country as well. Last weekend, several cities staged “No Kings” protests in response to President Donald Trumps’ immigration enforcement efforts.

While the Dodgers have remained silent on the matter up to this point, Angel City FC and LAFC both released statements.

Dodgers in the community

The Dodgers have long been active in providing for those in need, with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation held in high regard for various initiatives they carry out.

It’s part of what made the silence on their heavily Latino fanbase being significantly impacted so surprising.
