Dave Roberts Includes Clayton McCullough & Brian Snitker On National League Coaching Staff For 2025 MLB All-Star Game

Honorary coaches and staffs for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park were announced, with Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts including Atlanta Braves skipper Brian Snitker and Miami Marlins’ Clayton McCullough as part of his group in the National League dugout.

Roberts and his Dodgers coaches already were bound for Atlanta in July, and extending invites to Snitker and McCullough as honorary members of the NL staff hardly come as a surprise.

Snitker is not only manager of the hosting team, but he also included Roberts among his NL coaches for the All-Star Game in 2022. Prior to that, Snitker was on Roberts’ All-Star Game coaching staff in 2019.

Meanwhile, Roberts and McCullough share a close friendship from their time together in the Dodgers organization. McCullough spent 10 seasons with the Dodgers, including four as first base coach under Roberts, before he was hired by the Marlins as their new manager last November.

“Clayton is a very, very special person. A very special coach. The Marlins got a really good one,” Roberts said when McCullough and the Marlins played at Dodger Stadium in April.

“We miss him a ton. He helped us win a championship. For me, it’s a guy who loves people, loves players, loves the game, always wants to learn and really see people thrive. I think that’s really a good trait for a manager.

“And also still willing to have a hard conversation to challenge people. He brings energy every day, and the Marlins are playing good baseball. As I was talking to Clayton today, I think he said there were 18 players this year that made their Opening Day debut.

“It’s a little different than our club, but there’s a lot of talent there and they’re playing good baseball. I miss him dearly, but I’m happy to see he can sort of make his own way now.”

American League manager Aaron Boone of the New York Yankees is including Hall of Famer Joe Torre and Cleveland Guardians skipper Stephen Vogt on his staff for the 95th Midsummer Classic.

MLB All-Star Game history: manager Dave Roberts

By virtue of the Dodgers winning the pennant the year prior, Roberts is going to lead the NL All-Star team for a fourth time in his career.

Roberts’ first time as manager of the NL All-Stars came in 2018. He repeated the feat in 2019 and also held the honor in 2021. Now Roberts gets to do so again during the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park.

The NL team is 0-3 thus far when managed by Roberts in the annual MLB All-Star Game. but that’s part of a broader trend that has seen the AL win 10 of the last 11 Midsummer Classics. Included in that stretch was the AL going on a nine-year All-Star Game winning streak from 2013-2022.
