Daniel Hudson Receives 2024 Dodgers World Series Ring During Visit To Chase Field

The Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen played a key role in their 2024 World Series championship run, and among the relievers who made an impact was Daniel Hudson.

The right-hander appeared in 63 regular season games for the Dodgers, posting a 3.00 ERA with 10 saves. Hudson added six innings pitched during the postseason, including two appearances against the New York Yankees in the World Series.

Hudson retired after the season, so he was not with the Dodgers during their World Series ring ceremony at Dodger Stadium. But the Dodgers did have a chance to see him again on Saturday at Chase Field, and presented Hudson his World Series ring inside the clubhouse.

“Obviously, this means a lot to me,” Hudson told his former teammates. “Being able to come back here and see all you guys. So this is very much appreciated.

“Something about last year, going into it, I was pretty sure it was going to be my last season. Then you get going through the season and have success, and you’re like ‘Huh, am I making the right decision here? I don’t know.’ And then it was about, what was it, Doc? Mid-August when you put me in timeout for like 10 days? And I was like, ‘Yeah, I think this body’s cooked.’

“So to put all this hard work in and all you guys do the exact same, all the sacrifices you guys made to help me go out on my own and on top, thank you guys so much. This is awesome.”

Hudson spent the final three years of his career with the Dodgers, joining them prior to the 2022 season. He also spent 2018 with the club before making stops with other organizations.

Over his 15-year career, Hudson spent the majority of his time with the Arizona Diamondbacks, with the Dodgers checking in second, followed by the Washington Nationals, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays and San Diego Padres.

Hudson also won a World Series title with the Nationals as their closer in 2019.

Daniel Hudson explained Dodgers bullpen dogs mentality

The Dodgers relievers banded together with a unified mentality during the end of the 2024 season as the “dogs.” The idea came from not letting the dogs out of the cage and the relievers wanting to go out there with an aggressive mindset.
