Dodgers Roster: J.P. Feyereisen Optioned, Landon Knack Recalled

The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned J.P. Feyereisen to Triple-A Oklahoma City and recalled Landon Knack prior to Wednesday’s game against the Miami Marlins.

Feyereisen is headed back to the Minors just one day after he was added onto the Dodgers’ roster. Feyereisen entered in the 10th inning and didn’t retire any of the batters faced in their walk-off loss to the Marlins.

Results aside, it was probable that the Dodgers would option Feyereisen on Wednesday as they continue a roster churn to navigate a shortage of starting pitchers while in a stretch of playing 10 games in a row without an off day.

Feyereisen returned to the Dodgers organization when he was claimed off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 1. He first joined the Dodgers in December 2022 as part of a trade that sent Minor League pitcher Jeff Belge to the Tampa Bay Rays.

Feyereisen at the time was facing a prolonged recovery from right shoulder surgery and he didn’t pitch for the Dodgers until the 2024 season. He appeared in 10 games that year and went 0-1 with an 8.18 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 10 appearances that were spread across multiple stints as he filled an organizational depth role.

While with Oklahoma City last year, Feyereisen was 2-6 with a 5.48 ERA in 33 games (six starts). He signed a Minor League contract with the Diamondbacks during the offseason.

Dodgers leaning on Landon Knack

Knack is back up with the Dodgers to play a prominent role in their bullpen game as they go for a series win against the Marlins. There was consideration to having Knack follow an opener and pitch bulk innings, but he instead is making a regular start.

Knack has appeared in three games (two starts) for the Dodgers this season, going 1-0 with a 7.27 ERA and 1.73 WHIP. His ERA is inflated from allowing five runs to the Washington Nationals in just 2.1 innings on April 9.

He otherwise has allowed two runs or fewer the other two games.

During his time with Oklahoma City in 2025, the right-hander is 1-0 with a 3.98 ERA in four games (three starts).
