One day after celebrating their 2024 World Series title during a visit with President Trump at the White House, the Los Angeles Dodgers sent a contingent to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, where they met with Senators from California, Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla, among others.
Dodgers owner Mark Walter, president and CEO Stan Kasten, manager Dave Roberts, Tyler Glasnow and Will Smith were part of the group that represented the team. They received a tour of the Senate in addition to meeting with politicians.

Schiff and Padilla were presented with custom Dodgers jerseys and had an opportunity to see the 2024 World Series trophy up close.
“As a U.S. Senator and lifelong Dodger fan, it was a special honor to host the Boys in Blue at the Capitol today to celebrate their 2024 World Series Championship,” Senator Padilla said in a statement.
“I remember being inspired by Fernandomania in ’81 and Gibby and the Bulldog in ’88. The talent, grit, and diversity of the 2024 championship team is just as inspiring.”

Senator Schiff added: “The Los Angeles Dodgers are champions in every sense of the word, and I was delighted to join Senator Alex Padilla today to celebrate them on their World Series victory. To the players, coaches, staff, and fans — thank you for a season we’ll never forget and for pouring your hearts and soul into the game. Let’s win it all again this year!”
Last year, the Senate unanimously passed Senator Padilla and former Senator Laphonza Butler’s resolution applauding the Dodgers’ championship run and recognizing the achievements and contributions of the entire organization. The resolution also acknowledged the passing of Fernando Valenzuela, who was a beloved member of the Dodgers during his playing career and as a broadcaster.
Dodgers World Series celebrations
With the parade, Dodger Stadium event and White House visit all in the books, the Dodgers have now enjoyed every official celebration of their 2024 World Series title and can fully shift focus toward attempting to become MLB’s first repeat champion since the New York Yankees won three championships in a row from 1998-2000.
The Cincinnati Reds were the last National League team to win back-to-back World Series, when they did so from 1975-1976.
