Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is set to become the latest addition to Fortnite’s Icon Series on March 17 via two custom outfits or “skins” and other cosmetics.

The first skin features Ohtani in his Dodgers uniform in three styles: Dodgers home white, road gray, and a LEGO Style for LEGO Fortnite, which is its own game mode. Also included in the Ohtani Fortnite bundle is a Decoy backpack — a bobblehead based on his dog and a custom pickaxe.

The second skin is Ohtani in a high heat samurai suit, a nod to the upcoming Tokyo Series and his Japanese heritage. It is a reactive skin that sees Ohtani’s the pitching arm become fiery after the player records eliminations in a match. The bundle also includes a custom backpack and pickaxe.

Both Ohtani skins will be available through separate Fortnite bundles available for purchase beginning at 5 p.m. PT on March 17.

Fortnite is an online multiplayer game that released in 2017 by developer Epic Games. It first rose to prominence in 2017 with the release of its battle royal game mode, which consisted of individual matches of 100 people competing to be the last one standing.

Players can either play solo, as a duo or squad of up to four. The game mode was an instant success, gaining over 10 million players during its first two weeks of its release.

One particularly popular feature in Fortnite is the ability to customize the appearance of the in-game character with skins. The release of custom World Cup and Winter Olympics cosmetics in 2018 represented the first time that the game had sports-themed collaborations.

That same year, Fortnite collaborated with the NFL to bring the uniforms of all 32 teams into the game.

Early collaborations with superstars eventually evolved into what is now known as the Icon Series, which is a title reserved for cosmetics that are based on notable celebrities, artists and influencers. Previous Icon Series additions include LeBron James, Naomi Osaka, Neymar Jr., Lionel Messi and Patrick Mahomes.
