In his first year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani was named the unanimous National League Most Valuable Player for the 2024 season, receiving all 30 first-place votes.
Ohtani joins Frank Robinson as the only two players in MLB history to win an MVP Award in both the NL and the American League. He previously was voted AL MVP for the Los Angeles Angels in 2021 and 2023. Ohtani is also just the 12th player in MLB history to win the MVP Award at least three times.

He is the second player to win MVP in consecutive seasons with different teams, joining Barry Bonds, who won in 1992 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and 1993 with the San Francisco Giants.
