The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Detroit Tigers on March 27, 2025, at 4 p.m. PT for their home opener at Dodger Stadium next year.
The 2024 World Series champions banner raising ceremony will also be broadcasted with coverage beginning one hour before the game.
The Dodgers and Tigers playing on Opening Day will be broadcasted exclusively on ESPN as part of a doubleheader featuring both the reigning World Series champions and the 2024 American League champion New York Yankees.
The doubleheader begins on ESPN at 12 p.m. when Aaron Judge and the Yankees host Christian Yelich and the Milwaukee Brewers, who won the National League Central in 2024.
Coverage continues with a special Opening Day edition of Baseball Tonight beginning at 3 p.m. leading into the second half of ESPN’s doubleheader. Baseball Tonight will feature the Dodgers’ World Series banner raising ceremony.
While March 27 marks Opening Day across MLB, the Dodgers will already have played two games with the Tokyo Series against the Chicago Cubs being played on March 18 and 19.
It marks the second straight year the Dodgers opened their season in Asia after beginning the 2024 season in Seoul, South Korea.
Following Tokyo Series, the Dodgers return home to begin its domestic slate with a three-game series against the Tigers. Los Angeles then starts April with three games versus the Atlanta Braves (March 31-April 2) to close out the first homestand.
