Preview: Dodgers Need Win Vs. Cardinals To Remain In Position For Series Victory

After having their 10-game home run streak and five-game winning streak snapped, the Los Angeles Dodgers look to remain in position of securing a fourth consecutive series victory. A loss Tuesday night would mean they at best split with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Corey Seager is out of the Dodgers lineup, while Justin Turner returns after receiving his night off for rest. Turner did appear as a pinch-hitter in the series opener, grounding out to end the game.

On the mound, Ross Stripling makes his third start of the season. He’s yet to earn a decision and enters with a 2.31 ERA, 4.63 FIP and 0.94 WHIP. Outside of a shaky fourth inning in his last start, Stripling has pitched well this season.

He’ll be backed by a Dodgers bullpen that’s added JT Chargois. He takes the place of Hyun-Jin Ryu, who landed on the 10-day injured list because of a left groin strain suffered in the series opener.

The Cardinals send Dakota Hudson to the hill as he returns from a brief stint in the bullpen. Hudson allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits over 4.1 innings in his regular-season debut. He then converted a save against the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 3.

Dodgers lineup:

LF: Joc Pederson
3B: Justin Turner
RF: Cody Bellinger
CF: A.J. Pollock
1B: Max Muncy
2B: Kiké Hernandez
SS: Chris Taylor
C: Austin Barnes
P: Ross Stripling

Cardinals lineup:

3B: Matt Carpenter
1B: Paul Goldschmidt
SS: Paul DeJong
LF: Marcell Ozuna
C: Yadier Molina
RF: Dexter Fowler
2B: Kolten Wong
CF: Harrison Bader
P: Dakota Hudson
