2024 MLB Postseason Bracket: Wild Card Series Matchups, Schedule, TV Info & Start Times

The 2024 MLB postseason is set with all 12 teams — six in the American League and six in the National League — having clinched their playoff spots and games getting underway Monday with the Wild Card Series.

Although the regular season was supposed to finish up on Sunday to give every team an off-day before the playoffs began, the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets had to play a doubleheader on Monday to make up a pair of postponed games. The matchups had major implications for the playoff field.

The Mets and Braves split their series, which put the Braves in the No. 5 seed and the Mets as the No. 6 seed. In addition, that eliminated the Arizona Diamondbacks, which needed one of the two teams to sweep the series to secure their spot.

That series affected who the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers could potentially face as well in the NL Division Series.

Both 2023 World Series contenders, the Texas Rangers and Diamondbacks, missed out on the postseason this year.

The higher seed will have home-field advantage, and in the event two teams with the same seeding match up, the team with the better record in the season will determine who gets the advantage. If both teams have the same record, their head-to-head results from during the season is the tiebreaker.

The Dodgers hold home-field advantage over all teams by way of finishing with the best record in baseball.
