The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Ben Casparius and optioned Zach Logue to Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of their final homestand of the season.
Casparius is expected to either start on Friday or fill in as part of a bullpen game, potentially as the bulk reliever.
Logue joined the Dodgers active roster one week after signing a Minor League deal with the club following his release from the Atlanta Braves organization. The lefty had a 2.68 ERA in 23 games, including 12 starts, for Triple-A Gwinnett prior to joining the Dodgers organization.
The 28-year-old appeared in two games for the Dodgers, posting an 18.00 ERA and 3.00 WHIP over two innings while striking out four.
In his first appearance on Sept. 18, he allowed three runs on three hits without recording an out before exiting the game. Logue bounced back the next day with just one run allowed over two innings.
Prior to joining the Dodgers, he last pitched in the Majors for the Detroit Tigers in 2023, and he appeared in 14 games (10 starts) for the Oakland Athletics the year prior.
The southpaw owns a career 7.20 ERA in 70 innings with a 1.56 WHIP and 56 strikeouts.
Due to MLB option rules, he will be unable to re-join the Dodgers in the regular season unless he replaces an injured player.

Casparius is back for his third stint with the Dodgers this season after he was last optioned on Sept. 1 for Michael Grove.
In his first stint with the club, Casparius did not enter a game, but he made his MLB debut on Aug. 31 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, tossing a perfect inning while recording the win.
The right-hander has spent the 2024 season with Double-A Tulsa and OKC. With the Oklahoma City Baseball Club, Casparius threw 67 innings with a 3.36 ERA and 4.18 FIP while striking out 9.67 hitters per nine and walking 4.70 per nine.
He was promoted from Double-A on May 7 after going 2-1 with a 3.32 ERA in five games. He has spent four minor league seasons in the Dodgers’ organization, going 14-17 in 79 games (57 starts) with 346 strikeouts against 150 walks.
Although Casparius is unlikely to make a case for a postseason roster spot, he prove himself to be a contributor for the 2025 season, or possibly even earn a spot on the taxi squad in October if things go very well.
