Jaime Jarrín retired from his role as the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Spanish-language broadcaster after the 2022 season, but he’s maintained close ties to the organization in the years since.
Among Jarrín’s latest ventures was to visit with the Single-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Thursday afternoon. Jarrín shared photos from his trip to LoanMart Field on Instagram.
“It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with some of the Dodgers future stars!” Jarrín wrote in the caption. “Thank you for having me @rcquakes”
The former Dodgers broadcaster not only took pictures with the Minor Leaguers, he also addressed the team in the clubhouse.
Rancho Cucamonga went on to defeat the Visalia Rawhide (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate), bouncing back from a 5-1 loss the night prior.
Among notable Dodgers prospects currently playing for the Quakes include Hyun-Seok Jang, Kendall George, Christian Zazueta and Zyhir Hope. Jang pitched two scoreless innings in his fifth start of the season for the Quakes on Wednesday night.
George was selected by the Dodgers with the 36th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He’s among multiple prospects who have visited Dodger Stadium this season. That amounted to George having an opportunity to face Clayton Kershaw in a simulated game.
“Just to get him here and have him take some at-bats versus Clayton, to talk to some of our guys, myself, front office, and just check it on him,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said at the time. “We’ve done that with players in the past. So just being that the geography is so close, it was good to kind of put eyes on him.”

Upon retiring from the Dodgers broadcast booth after his 64th season, Jarrín transitioned into a new role with the team.
“I’m going to be with the Dodgers organization for two more years as an ambassador of the team, representing the Dodgers mainly within the Latino community,” Jarrín said in October 2022. “They have asked me to be with them, so I’m going to stay for two years. They wanted me for more than two years, but let’s see.
“I’m sure my love for the Dodgers is not going to end this year. After 64 years, I’ve really fallen in love with baseball and the Dodgers. They have been great with me. They have supported me, they have given me an opportunity. The Dodgers always were behind me.
“They treated me with respect. One thing I can tell you is I have never had any problem with anybody. I have been very fortunate to have really professional colleagues. They have been great.”
