The Los Angeles Dodgers outlasted the Arizona Diamondbacks in another back-and-forth affair to guarantee themselves at least a series split at Chase Field behind an 8-6 win.

Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman got the Dodgers started early with back-to-back-to-back home runs to start the first inning.

But their 3-0 lead was short-lived as the Diamondbacks scored four runs off Gavin Stone in the bottom half of the frame. Ohtani’s sacrifice fly tied the game in the second inning and Freeman’s two-out RBI single put L.A. ahead.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s solo home run pulled Arizona even in the third inning before the Dodgers responded in the fifth. They did so behind a double from Gavin Lux that was cashed in by Max Muncy on an RBI base hit.

The bring the boom! That's what they do.

The Dodgers left the bases loaded in the seventh inning, which proved costly as Corbin Carroll’s sacrifice fly in the bottom half again tied the game.

Tommy Edman then had his biggest moment with the Dodgers as he delivered a game-winning base hit that scored two runs in the ninth.

Dodgers records

Saturday marked the first time in Dodgers franchise history they started a game with back-to-back-to-back home runs.

The victory also clinched their 14th consecutive winning season, which set a Dodgers record as well. They previously were tied with the 1945-1957 Brooklyn teams.

Prior to the current stretch the Los Angeles record was 10 winning seasons in a row, set from 1969-1978.
