Dodgers Vs. Brewers Game Preview: Series Finale At American Family Field

The Los Angeles Dodgers had their five-game winning streak snapped and now look to avoid settling for a series split with the Milwaukee Brewers in an afternoon affair at American Family Field.

The Dodgers enter play a half-game ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies for the best record in the National League and are 2-1 on their road trip thus far.

Jack Flaherty takes the mound for his third start with the Dodgers. Including time with the Detroit Tigers, he’s gone 9-5 with a 2.97 ERA in 20 starts this season.

Flaherty is 2-0 with a 3.09 ERA and 1.37 WHIP through his Dodgers starts thus far. Flaherty threw six scoreless innings in his Dodgers debut but allowed four runs to the Pittsburgh Pirates last week.

The team needs some length from the right-hander as Walker Buehler labored in a short outing on Wednesday in his return from the 15-day injured list.

The Brewers counter with Tobias Myers, who has gone 6-5 with a 2.79 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 18 games (17 starts) this season. Myers has allowed two earned runs or fewer in five consecutive starts and is coming off 7.1 scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds.

Myers has put together a successful rookie season despite getting optioned to Triple-A Nashville three times.

He faces a Dodgers lineup that includes several regulars but not Mookie Betts for the first time since he returned from the injured list. Teoscar Hernández is batting second, which is Betts’ new spot in the lineup as Shohei Ohtani has remained the Dodgers’ leadoff hitter.

Jason Heyward is starting in right field with Betts getting the planned day off.
