The Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back from having their 10-game winning streak snapped in the Freeway Series to earn a split with the Los Angeles Angels behind a 7-2 victory at Dodger Stadium.
As the game was still scoreless in the third inning, Gavin Lux connected on his second home run of the season to put the Dodgers up 1-0. Two batters later, Shohei Ohtani added onto his hot stretch with a mammoth two-run homer.
Ohtani’s latest home run traveled 459 feet and it made MLB history during the Statcast Era (since 2015) as he became the first player to ever hit multiple long balls of at least 450 feet at Dodger Stadium.
Furthermore, Ohtani has hit six home runs this season that are 450-plus feet, which is tied with Joc Pederson for most by a player in his Dodgers career since Statcast data tracking began.

Ohtani also has eight homers this season that have gone at least 440 feet, which is a Dodgers record for one year and tied with Corey Seager and Yasiel Puig for second-most in all-time franchise history under Statcast. Pederson holds the Dodgers career record with 12 such homers.
Andy Pages capped off the four-run inning with a ground-rule RBI double. After former Dodgers prospect Willie Calhoun got the Angels on the board in the fourth inning, Will Smith and Freddie Freeman helped manufacture offense in the bottom half with a bases-loaded walk and sacrifice fly, respectively.
Lux added onto his night with an RBI single in the fifth inning.
That was more than enough run support for Tyler Glasnow, who held the Angels to just one run and finished with 10 strikeouts over seven innings. It marked a third time this season Glasnow collected 10 strikeouts without walking a batter.
Glasnow also reached 100 innings this season, a feat he’s now accomplished only three times in his career. The right-hander threw a career-high 120 innings during the 2023 season.
Dodgers City Connect
The Freeway Series finale saw the on-field debut of the new Dodgers City Connect uniform, which seemed to gain some popularity from when the cream jersey was first unveiled.
The Dodgers will wear their new City Connect design for more games in the future, but those dates have not yet been made public.
