The Los Angeles Dodgers concluded a great road trip by clinching a series victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks with an 8-0 shutout. On the trip, the Dodgers went 7-2, winning all three series they played, including a sweep of the Washington Nationals.

All things were working for the Dodgers in the series finale, as both Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the offense excelled. Yamamoto pitched six shutout innings, while giving up five hits, walking two and striking out five.

He has now thrown consecutive starts of six innings pitched with no runs allowed, and he holds a streak of 15 consecutive scoreless innings. Since his disastrous debut in South Korea, Yamamoto has posted a 1.63 ERA in six starts.

On offense, the Dodgers chased Jordan Montgomery early as he threw just three innings, allowing six runs, which included a five-run second inning.

The scoring was started on a two-run homer from Andy Pages, following a walk from Kiké Hernández. Pages was down 0-2 in the count to start, but ended up battling to homer on the eighth pitch, continuing his hot hitting since his debut.

Miguel Rojas followed with a double and Chris Taylor walked to set the bases for Austin Barnes, who doubled home Rojas and put two runners in scoring position. Mookie Betts capped off the five-run inning with a two-RBI single.

The Dodgers added another run when Will Smith hit a solo home run in the third inning, his fourth of the year and second against the D-Backs. Their 6-0 lead remained until the seventh inning.

Walks from Freddie Freeman and Kiké Hernández, along with a single from Teoscar Hernández, loaded the bases. Rojas and Taylor drew consecutive walks to score two more runs, increasing the lead to eight runs.

J.P. Feyereisen made his first appearance since being recalled earlier in the day, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings with one hit allowed. Gus Varland entered the game after and pitched the final 1.1 innings.

Dodgers holding Blue Diamond Gala on day off

The eighth annual Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium is being held Thursday during the off day, with all players, coaching staff, front office and ownership group among those expected to be in attendance.

Ed Sheeran was previously announced as the headline performer for the 2024 Blue Diamond Gala, and SportsNet LA reporter Kirsten Watson has since been named the host of the signature event. DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak) is going to DJ the reception party after the blue carpet closes.

The Dodgers are back on the field Friday when they host the Atlanta Braves. Gavin Stone is expected to face Charlie Morton.
