FOCO released a new Los Angeles Dodgers bobblehead, set to a calavera/Día de los Muertos theme. The Day of the Day 2023 bobblehead differs from previous FOCO products in that it glows in the dark.
The Dodgers calavera bobblehead comprises of a skeleton wearing a sombrero and poncho while holding maracas. It features Dodgers-colored accents and team logos on the poncho and along the base. The entire skeleton body glows in the dark, as do bones and accents on the base, and candles that sit atop the sombrero.
The Día de los Muertos Dodgers bobblehead is limited to 123 units and won’t be restocked once quantities sell out.
Día de los Muertos is celebrated every year on November 1 and 2, which often leads to it being associated with Halloween. However, the two days are focused more toward honoring deceased loved ones, with several Latin American countries among those to participate.
The Dodgers have annually sold a special ticket package in recognition of the dates and last year set up an ofrenda at Dodger Stadium to pay tribute to Mike Brito, Tommy Lasorda, Vin Scully and Maury Wills, among others with ties to the organization in recognition of Día de Los Muertos. All but Lasorda passed away in 2022.
