The Los Angeles Dodgers received a strong start from Bobby Miller and hit their way to an 11-2 win over the Colorado Rockies in the nightcap of a doubleheader at Coors Field.
That gave the Dodgers a split of the two games against the Rockies, who have 100 losses for the first time in franchise history.
After a scoreless first inning, the Dodgers created some separation behind five runs in the fifth. With the bases loaded and nobody out, David Peralta hit a two-run single. Amed Rosario later beat out a chopper to first base for an RBI infield single, and Chris Taylor’s base hit brought in two more runs to cap off the five-run inning.
Kiké Hernández extended the Dodgers’ lead to 6-0 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, and Kolten Wong contributed with an RBI single. Freddie Freeman’s two-run homer in the sixth inning and Will Smith’s sac fly in the seventh put the Dodgers up 10-2.
