Prior to Los Angeles Dodgers players reporting for Spring Training this week, some were unknowingly filmed by their wives for a video the team shared to Instagram.
The significant others were tasked with attempting to scare their husbands, and Millie May, Kayla Howard and Sara Hudson were the most successful. Dustin May was startled to the point of jumping back, Alex Vesia stopped in his tracks as he heard footsteps behind him, and Daniel Hudson wore a shocked expression.
Meanwhile, Walker Buehler wasn’t quite caught off guard by his wife McKenzie, and Max Muncy didn’t appear too scared by Kellie talking to him through their security system.
Elizabeth Phillips tried to use a fake spider to scare Evan Phillips, and Mary Taylor wore a lit-up face mask that got Chris Taylor to remark on its color.
Both Brusdar Graterol and Yency Almonte didn’t appear fazed by their respective wives, and Will Smith was off camera when Cara popped out.
The lighthearted video was reminiscent of when the Dodgers social media team tapped Justin Turner to prank call Cody Bellinger, Joe Kelly, Clayton Kershaw, manager Dave Roberts and more. The 2021 practical joke was inspired by a challenge that went viral on TikTok and involved FaceTiming a friend to tell them you’re busy and can’t talk right now before hanging up.
