The Los Angeles Dodgers have 12 players eligible for salary arbitration this offseason, including three of them who will enter the process thanks to their status as a Super Two player.

Typically, a player becomes eligible for arbitration after three years of Major League service time. However, a select group of players can also become eligible for arbitration before reaching three years of service time thanks to the Super Two designation.

To qualify, a player must rank in the top 22% in terms of service time, among those who have amassed between two and three years in the Majors. The specific cutoff date varies on a year-to-year basis, and in 2022 the bar for Super Two status was set at 2 years, 128 days.

For the Dodgers, Tony Gonsolin and Brusdar Graterol are eligible for salary arbitration due to qualifying as Super Two players, according to Ronald Blum of The Associated Press:

Others in the Super-2 class include Tampa Bay outfielder Randy Arozarena, Texas first baseman Nathanial Lowe, Los Angeles Dodgers right-handers Brusdar Graterol and Tony Gonsolin, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward and left-hander Patrick Sandoval, Kansas City right-hander Brady Singer and left-hander Kris Bubic, Toronto infielder Santiago Espinal and Philadelphia infielder Edmundo Sosa.

In addition to Tony Gonsolin and Brusdar Graterol, Evan Phillips is also set to begin salary arbitration as a Super Two player.

Gonsolin and Phillips are both coming off breakout seasons while Graterol continued to pitch at a quality level for the Dodgers.

Gonsolin is projected to receive a salary of $3.5 million for the 2023 season coming off his first career All-Star selection, while Phillips is projected for $1.4 million, and Graterol checks in at $1.2 million.

Which Dodgers are eligible for salary arbitration?

Along with Gonsolin, Graterol and Phillips, the Dodgers have multiple other players eligible for salary arbitration.

Cody Bellinger and Julio Urías are both entering their final seasons in the process before they can become free agents, while Yency Almonte, Dustin May, Edwin Ríos, Will Smith and Trayce Thompson are going through the process for the first time.

Walker Buehler and Caleb Ferguson are arbitration eligible for the second time.
