The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Angels, backed by four home runs, including two from Trea Tuner, en route to a 7-1 victory.
Turner opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning to put the Dodgers up 1-0. That score remained into the third inning when the Dodgers lineup broke out for five runs.
Gavin Lux worked a leadoff walk before Turner hit his second home run of the game to put them up 3-0. That proved to be all the Dodgers needed as Julio Urías was brilliant throughout the game.
However, L.A. added three more runs after Freddie Freeman doubled to extend his hitting streak to eight games and Justin Turner worked a two-out walk. Max Muncy then put the Dodgers up 6-0 with a no-doubter home run.

From there, the Dodgers maintained that lead until Freeman hit a solo homer to increase their lead to seven runs. It was also Freeman’s 1,000th RBI of his career, which made him the 298th player in MLB history to achieve that feat.
The Angels broke the shutout in the seventh inning on a Brandon Marsh solo home run. They had multiple other chances to score but couldn’t capitalize against the Dodgers’ pitching.
Urías threw seven innings while allowing just one run and striking out eight batters. Urías also gave up just five hits, with one of them coming when Muncy slipped on the infield dirt trying to field a softly hit ground ball, and walked none.
He was followed by Caleb Ferguson and Phil Bickford, who reached pitched a scoreless inning to finish out the game.
Tyler Anderson named to All-Star Game
Major League Baseball announced Dodgers starter Tyler Anderson was added to the National League All-Star team as a replacement for San Francisco Giants lefty Carlos Rodón.
This marks the first career All-Star Game nomination for Anderson, who is well-deserving in the midst of a breakout seasons with the Dodgers.
The Dodgers signed Anderson to a one-year contract last offseason hoping he could be an innings eater for them whether as a starter or out of the bullpen, but the southpaw has been much better than that.
He ended the first half with a 10-1 record to go along with a 2.96 ERA, 3.33 FIP, 1.01 WHIP and 81 strikeouts and 17 walks in 97.1 innings.
